Our Newest Review:

Santino's Pizza
Aynor, SC

January 14, 2007
The Myrtle Beach area is a wonderful place to dine. We have more than fifteen hundred restaurants along the Grand Strand, so whether you are a local or a visitor, there is plenty of opportunity for new experiences and adventure. Most of these restaurants are good, and many are excellent.

But unfortunately, there are some that are not up to par. We've all had those experiences. You leave a restaurant feeling less than satisfied. Whether it was mediocre food or bad service, you did not enjoy your meal. It's bad enough when it happens in your hometown. But when you're on vacation it's even worse because you're often searching blindly, picking a restaurant by who has the most billboards or the flashiest exterior.

That is exactly why my wife and I started this web site. We love to dine out and to try new places. In the past, we checked online for restaurant reviews and didn't find anything past the same three-sentence reviews for the same ten or twenty places. (You know, "Great food! We come every time we visit the beach. We had a great time.") We are going to bring you a new review every week of a restaurant in the area. We'll stay away from the all-you-can-eat buffets and the chains that are in hundreds of markets. Several of our reviews will come from King's Highway and other main tourist areas, but we are also going to spend a good bit of time off the beaten path so that we can bring you those wonderful "best-kept secrets" that make for wonderful discoveries.

The two of us like to think of ourselves as typical diners. We aren't rich and our time is valuable. We aren't very demanding patrons, but we do expect good food, good service and a fair price. We don't mind paying higher prices whenever the quality is equally high. We like to think that we have fairly discerning palates, and one of us (hint: it's not me) is very observant, has an excellent memory and can turn a pretty good phrase. We hope that you enjoy our reviews and, more importantly, they help you with your dining decisions.

Thanks!
